The IACI supports through registration fees a number of student prizes for best presentations. Thanks to philanthropic support, a number of other Scholarships and Awards are available biennially in association with each IACI conference.
For Students:
IACI Best Student Presentation(s)
At least one award is presented at each IACI Meeting to the student delivering the best student presentation (poster or podium). To be eligible students must be registered for the conference, must be the presenting author for the paper, and must also be the first author of the paper. Students fulfilling these criteria are automatically entered into consideration for the award(s). Depending on the preferences of the conference organizing committee, one award for best overall student presentation may be made or multiple separate awards offered for podium and poster categories. Candidates are assessed by a judging panel compiled and approved by the Board of Governors.
Recipients of the IACI Best Student Presentation receive a certificate and book prize.
CRANIOFACIALidentification.com Student Travel Award (New)
Students travelling to an IACI meeting to present their research may also be eligible for the CRANIOFACIALidentification.com AUD$1000 Travel Award. Students must be first authors of the paper, hold proof of abstract acceptance by the IACI organizing committee, and provide proof of IACI conference registration/payment. Applications open prior to IACI meetings, should be made on the prescribed application forms and should be submitted directly to CRANIOFACIALidentification.com. IACI Lifetime Achievement Award
The IACI Lifetime Achievement Award honors those individuals associated with the IACI that have contributed a lifetime to promote, employ and research craniofacial identification through academic and/or applied practical work. This award was inaugurated by the Board of Governors at the 2006 Istanbul conference, where Prof. Dr. Richard Helmer became its first recipient. Nominees for this esteemed award are considered on an ongoing and biennial basis by the Board of Governors. An engraved plaque, designed and commissioned by Michael Taister, is presented to each awardee.
